| Q |
What
is a "quality replacement part" or "competitive part"? |
| A |
These
are parts not made by the original manufacturer.
Ex.: Replacing a Toyota bumper with
one not made by Toyota. These parts are questionable
in terms of fit, corrosion protection and structural stability. |
| |
 |
| Q |
What
is the "deductible"? Do I have to pay it? |
| A |
The
deductible is a part of the cost of repairs that you have
agreed to in your policy to keep your insurance premium lower.
You are responsible for paying this amount (deemed by your
insurance company according to the type of claim it is) and
the insurance company pays the remainder. |
| |
 |
| Q |
Will
you be able to match my paint? |
| A |
We
have a computerized paint mixing system which gives us access
to over 100,000 paint formulas so the part we painted will
be undetectable. |
| |
 |
| Q |
What
if your (Sisk Auto Body's) estimate is more than the one from
my insurance company? |
| A |
No
problem! Insurance companies know that there might be
additional repairs necessary so they have a system for approving
them. And most of the time they will pay us directly
so you don't have to worry about coming up with more money. |
| |
 |
| Q |
Do
I have to take my car to where my insurance company tells
me to? |
| A |
NO,
the decision is up to YOU where you choose
to obtain an estimate. There is an anti-steering law
in Maryland that makes it illegal for insurance companies
to tell you to take it to a shop of their choice. |
| |
 |
| Q |
What
if mechanical problems are caused by my accident? |
| A |
We
can take care of that too. Sisk Auto Body has two certified
technicians on site that can get you running as good as new. |
| |
 |
| Q |
Do
I have to get two different estimates? |
| A |
There
is no law that requires you to get two estimates. In
most insurance cases an estimate from a body shop is not necessary
because the shop has to work directly from the insurance estimate
when doing auto repairs. Obtaining two estimates is
a courtesy to a person at fault who wishes to pay out of pocket. |
| |
 |
| Q |
Can
I get an estimate over the phone? |
| A |
There
are too many variables involved in estimating to give an estimate
over the phone. You can stop by anytime between 8-5:00
Monday through Friday for an estimate and you don't even need
an appointment. |
